Shop Small, Y'all!

Imagine this: you’re driving around looking for a spot to grab a delicious cup of coffee, so you look up "best coffee near me". Google suggests a small coffee shop off the side of the road atop a hill. You walk in and are greeted by some of the kindest people you’ve ever met and get one of the best cups of coffee you’ve ever had. You discover that shop is a woman and veteran-owned small business that imports their coffee beans directly from their family farm in Honduras. Not only did you purchase a product that was exceptional, but you can feel good about spending your money in a way that greatly impacts your community.

As you’ve probably come to figure now, that’s the story of many our customers at Alma Coffee. We are so thankful for the community that we have in Cherokee County who have bolstered us and given us the stability that allows us to sell our coffee nationwide (shoutout Cherokee Connect). The continued support we have gotten at home has laid the groundwork for us to scale our business and create a larger community: our Alma Familia.

As a small business in Cherokee County, it is so important to us to support other small businesses in the community. Here’s a few of our favorites:

1. Soho Bagel Co.

If you’re looking for an authentic New York style bagel, this is the place to go. Their everything bagel with lox spread is one of the best. If you stop by, you can also grab a cup of Alma Coffee. Is there a better duo than a bagel and a cup of coffee? We think not.  

2. Eden

Smoothie bowls are all the rage these days, especially smoothie bowls that you can be certain are made with whole, fresh ingredients. Eden truly is a gem in the heart of Downtown Woodstock. Their smoothies are incomparable. Not in the mood for something fruity? No worries! They offer a variety of different foods, including an avocado toast that is seriously scrumptious. Eden is one of those places that you can grab a quick bite that you can be sure is nutritious.

3. Nature’s Corner Market

Nature’s Corner Market is a locally owned and operated health foods store. They have everything you might need ranging from organic produce to natural skin care. They also have a full service natural foods cafe that serves gluten free and vegan options (they also serve Alma Coffee wink wink). If you’re looking for foods that you can feel good about eating and will support a healthy lifestyle, this is the place to go!!

4. Holistic Lifestyle Center

Speaking of a healthy lifestyle, if you haven’t been to the Holistic Lifestyle Center, you are seriously missing out. They offer a variety of amazing food options that taste incredible. More than that, they also offer life coaching, yoga classes, and nutritional coaching. If you’re looking for some advice on changing your lifestyle or overall just being healthier, this is the place to go! 

5. Pie Bar

Having a healthy lifestyle is great and all, but sometimes you just need a sweet treat. Balance out all that healthy with a scrumptious slice of blueberry pie (or any other flavor of your choosing). The Pie Bar is the place to go if you’re looking to satisfy that sweet tooth. They offer some of the best pies in the state of Georgia. We may be biased, but there is seriously nothing better in this world than a slice of freshly-made, warm, delicious pie with a hot cup of coffee (which they also serve in the store). If you’ve never tried Pie Bar, you’ve never experienced true happiness.

Small businesses are the backbone of Cherokee County and as a small business ourselves, we take every opportunity we can get to support those in the same boat. Starting and owning your own business is no small task, and it is important to us that we take the time to encourage and uplift those venturing into the same avenues. Here at the Roastery, we host pop-ups for small, local businesses to give them a space to sell their products!
